Hesiodos
kennel
Our goal for each puppy that leaves
our kennel is that they shall have the best conditions to be the
family dog the Lagotto is. I want to sell my puppies to active
homes. The Lagotto is an active dog that likes to be where and when
things happen. Health and soundness comes first. To get a broad and
objective judgement of my breeding I have
some requirements on those who purchase puppies from
me.
These requirements
are to x-ray the hips and to participate during at least one dog
show. This is something I demand from all my puppy purchasers.
The reason of my demands is that I want the objective
judgement of my breeding that it takes to continue to breed healthy
dogs with quality.
Hip
dysplasia in dogs is hereditary with polygene causes. Because of the
hereditary one demands that you know the hips dysplasia status on
the whole breeding stock. This will minimize the risk of joint
problems. Are only a couple of the puppies in the litter x-rayed the
risk increases. Only a veterinary can determine whether a dog have
hip dysplasia or not. The veterinary determines this after he has
study the dogs x-ray. It is never enough just to look at the dog and
say that “he looks healthy” or to say that “he never limps”. This is
why I demand hip dysplasia x-ray of all my litters. (It is time to
x-ray the dog’s hips when it is 1 year)
The
dogs I use for breeding in Hesiodos Kennel are always free
from hips dysplasia i.e. A or B. The exterior quality is much easier
to get an entire opinion of because it is on the outside. But I
still want the official opinion on the dog’s quality, which only a
show judge can give.
I am a member of the Swedish
Lagotto Romagnolo Club and the Swedish Kennel Club and I follow
their breeding demands on health, mentality and exterior. The
puppies I deliver are id-tagged, registered at The Swedish Kennel
Club, vaccinated and inspected by a veterinary.
You can contact us
by e-mail or by phone.
All puppies are
delivered id-tagged with the Swedish Kennel Clubs contract,
pedigree/register certificate from the Swedish Kennel Club,
certificate from the veterinary and advices on how to take care of
your Lagotto.
You who purchase a puppy from
our kennel are always welcome to call us whether you have questions
or need advice.
